I cannot close my report until every loose end has been tied up.. 50% off with new game mode! : Hi all, to celebrate Prospekts continued improvement i've dropped the price by 50% for the next week! This includes a new game mode! A concept ive been working on for a short while behind the scenes, this game mode challenges you to try and sneak past the combine and get to the end of the level. So far the feedback has been surprisingly positive so hop in and try it out! It will be in the Bonus Maps section of the main menu. Also a few other bits and bobs tightening up the game in general places for new players. I'll be on hand tonight for any new players experiencing issues with the game to try and fix them asap. Also the Stealth Maps are kinda in beta so you may find a few issues. But so far they look pretty solid.. April Update! : Hello everyone! Hope you are keeping well. So it's been awhile since I last put an update out for you all to see what is going on. Things are moving in the background slowly but surely. I would like to officially announce that the Prospekt team has grown by 2! David, who is an eager and talented young mapper has joined to make some cool levels and gameplay and Dmitry who is a talented programmer to help get some totally new items and mechanics working in the game. Both are in the Prospekt discord if you wish to speak to them.. A message from Rich : Hi everyone Rich here. So the last few weeks have been very interesting indeed. Very up and down as you have probably seen. Firstly I'd just like to thank everyone who's bought a copy of Prospekt, your support means a lot. Secondly I'd like to thank everyone who has given me feedback on the game. To all of you that enjoyed Prospekt and have personally got in touch to say so. Thank you very much. To those of you who didn't enjoy Prospekt so much, I'm going to be implementing the changes that you as a community have been pointing out. I've compiled a list of things that I've been consistently reading that I'm going to change in future updates. I will also be adding more content to the game as many of you are not happy with the length of the game and/or corridor style game play. I guess for me I designed the game purposely this way because of its setting. However it would seem this has not resonated well with a lot of players. I kept Prospekt quite a closed and secretive project mainly for two reasons. One, because it was originally a tech demo as a job application, and two, because I did not want to disappoint people by saying I'm working on this game that might not get finished or if something happened and the project got cancelled people would be upset/letdown. In hindsight, it would probably have been better to open this up to a much larger focus group during its development. This is all a huge learning curve for me as you can probably imagine. I have read everyone's comments from both sides and I've taken on board a tonne of things that you've all been saying. I am going to continue to update and support Prospekt with more content. I have a huge list of things that people want to be extended, mixed up, improved and changed in some way. That being said. The list is already pretty huge so I'm going to get started on all of this soon. I am also going to look into the new weapons and enemies thing that has come up a quite a lot but I'm not going to promise anything as I've already been told this is very hard, time consuming and spans multiple fields of technical expertise to implement correctly. See you soon with an update.. Prospekt - The Forward Plan : Hello to everyone following Prospekt I hope you are all well. So it's been exactly 4 whole weeks since I put the first update for the game out and not only that weve all now seen the new Steam review system change. After addressing the main issues that were repeatedly coming up in patch one, I thought I would give it some time to see how things level out. So far so good, we have jumped quite a bit from 47% approval overall to between 69% 70% in the last 30 days, coupled with me talking to people one on one about what they didn't like in particular. I feel that has given me a firm direction on what needs to be done to the game. So what's new and what's happening in the land of Prospekt? Well the plan is over the course of well. time. Work on every level in Prospekt giving them an extension to increase overall gameplay time and improving current content. There are also some things in the background that i'm going to keep a little secret until im in a position to reveal to you all. There will be a closed beta coming out on either Monday or Tuesday if anyone would like to be a part of this you can go onto community discussion and let me know your interest there. On top of that there will be an update coming out soon after I have had some feedback on changes from players. To give you a taste of the improvements that are in the works there is a good example below. Time.. Black Forest Update : Hello everyone Rich here! So after my last post i've been hard at work. Today im happy to announce the Black Forest update! To celebrate this i've put the game on sale so you can pick it up and play it if you haven't already before the big update comes along. I'm hoping that it will come out in early spring. This will be a big change to the game and will hopefully mix up the corridor style that some people didn't like so much. I've learned a lot and evolved my designs, hopefully this shows in the trailer. I would also like to announce that the soundtrack for the game will be coming for free as DLC in the next few days if not tomorrow. I did want this coupled with today but I had to get the trailer ready. In the meantime, if you want to come and talk about the new trailer feel free to come join us over on the discord! Also just a quick note to all users getting this strange water pink and black issue on level three. I think i've fixed it and it's ready to be sent to you all. However when the game goes on sale sometimes there's a lot of traffic and I don't want to push a fresh update incase something breaks for everyone playing. If you are having that issue I am hoping to get it resolved in the next 24/48 hours so apologies and I will fix it for you asap.. July Update! : Hello all Rich here, so, i've been watching the comments and the chat for a while observing how things are unfolding over the last few weeks. Its interesting to see what peoples views and attitudes are. I'm going to just say a few home truths here about game design and development and also the continued support for this game. Prospekt is still being worked on and things are in the pipe. The main reason why there hasn't been any news for a while is mainly because of three reasons. Firstly, i've been incredibly sick and had a pretty close shave with my health as of late which put me out of commision for a long time for which I do have to say a massive thank you to the NHS for because honestly I would be dead by now if they were not there to help me free of charge. Secondly, the team that grew in size, contracted in size and the person who was working on major parts of the next update did not come through for us in the end. Thirdly. We are taking quite a major turn in what we want the game to be. The plan was to first just release updates, put out the soundtrack etc and improve on certain parts of the game. Hope it gets better and then continue with the development. Well that's not really the aim now. We are looking at all aspects of the game design to make it better. The team is now at five. So thats whats happening. I would like to give you dates / goals / milestones but honestly I think that's a bad idea because when/if we don't hit them people are not very understanding. What I can confirm is that the game is being worked on. Unfortunately due to the lack of sales and traffic it means that I have now had to find alternative means of income. Therefore the time I can spend on this project has dropped. Thats not to say that its stopped because that is completely not the case. In fact the team now is at its largest. I am taking more of a supportive role. Working on new 3D content and game aspects. I am not going to confirm any new changes at this time because that is likely to change and what i dont want to do is say this big feature is getting added, then down the line is removed as i feel that will disappoint a lot of players. What I can say is there will be more significant content drops. When they are extremely polished, fun and ready. There will be significant gameplay increases and i am very hopeful the game is going in a direction that youre all going to love. Can i just ask please that some of you just be patient. Creating content for this type of game is extremely time intensive and is not easy to just push out. When people start arguing or leaving negative reviews that is making it harder for this game to thrive. It would be much better for constructive criticism and support to help this game get better. With the game on a mixed review right now it is almost impossible for any growth. But we will still endeavour for that to happen.
