Tell us about you?
This might be too much info but thought I would give some details here since I won't be at the reunion. After high school, I went to Hinds Jr College 1 yr, Mississippi State 2 yr, and Univ of Alabama at Birmingham 2 yr where I got a BS in physical therapy. After that, I took a job in Asheville, NC for "a year (ha) of adventure" and had 3.5 wonderful! yr of playtime as a single. Met Larry on a blind date arranged by his mother and married 6 mo later. Have lived in Larry's hometown of Tryon since. 1 stepson has our g-son 20 and g-daughter 16. Other stepson has 2 stepkids. All live within 30 min. of us. Our son Grant 27 married Olivia in '08. Grant went to Appalachian State in Boone, NC and graduated from Johnson & Wales Univ in Charleston, SC with a degree in culinary arts. Grant is sous chef at a country club in Boone and Olivia is in school at App State. Grant is also going back to college this fall. They are holding off on children until she finishes school so I'm behind with grands. Reed 20 is about to begin his third yr at App State in pre-pharmacy and has had the same girlfriend 2 yr. G and R both play golf. G likes to trout fish and R likes to run. Larry has been at Tryon Federal Bank since before we met. He coached Little League Baseball for 23 yr. I have been a physical therapist in several hospitals, 2 school systems, an out-patient clinic, and a number of skilled nursing facilities over the years. I worked part-time for about 16 yr but have found myself back full-time. The last 2 yr, I've been at a closed community retirement center and really enjoy it. Larry and I both did our share of school activities and community involvement over the years, but now enjoy being lazy. Larry has back problems and doesn't travel well so we stay close to home these days. I wish I could see and talk to everyone. I've certainly enjoyed this web site.
I'm looking forward to seeing everyone at our reunion!
Getting together with you was so much fun. It felt like we could pick right back up, share old times and anticipate new times. This is so good. Thanks for sharing the pictures. John Milton
Sounds like you've been busy, which is wonderful. It is so good to reconnect with people that were such an important part of our life. At that time we didn't appreciate things like we do now.
I remember such great times with your mom and dad. Your dad brought you and I our first hula hoops......and when we got loud he'd just turn down his hearing aide.
I don;t know if maybe Jeanette and Wayne have been married about the same time. But I think Denny and I are the only ones that married whenin the class. And we are good freinds as well. How many couples can say that they can spend all day working together and still get along after hours. It has been a trip , that I can tell you. I wish you could come also, I was thing that maybe we were not "friends" during school but time , children and grandchildren can bring you new friends.
I AM GOING TO PUT YOU ON A GUILT TRIP YOU NEED TO COME VISIT YOUR MOTHER ANY WAY. TAKE MONDAY OFF, HAVE YOU READ THE MESSAGE THAT MILTON SAID HE WOULD BRING YOU. THINK OF A BETTER EXCUSE?
this is a lot of talk, hope to see everyone at the reunion,i will be their and will not be accepting excuses from anyone. yes chuck had a band but didnot play at the prom.
