Band / Not too much studying required for this one!
Who was your favorite teacher?
Mrs. Draughn for keeping it interesting. Mrs. Barron for keeping it whacky! "Isn't that right?"
Share a favorite high school memory.
All of the wild trips on the "band bus".
When me and James Lee and our band played for the Prom. Was that the first time there had ever been a "live band" for prom at LAC?
Of course, the senior trip.
Tell us about you?
Attended SMJC in Summit for 1 year then to Hinds Jr. College for 1 year followed by 2 weeks at USM. Yep 2 weeks....not a typo. College just wasn't for me. Moved to Baton Rouge and played music in bands "professionally" as a drummer (along with James Lee) for several years until around 1976 then decided it was time to get a "real" job.
Became a member of Operating Engineers Local 406 in Baton Rouge and worked primarily for Nichols Const. Corp. until Dec. of 2006 when I retired.
Went to Nanning, China in Dec. of 2006 and stayed until June of 2007. Returned to the U.S. with my wife Bei and stepdaughter XueRu.
Worked for Leblanc Nissan in sales for about a year and a half until this past March. Currently back to retired status. I'm living in Dutchtown, La. About 20 minutes south of Baton Rouge.
I have 2 daughters from a previous marriage. Jeannine just turned 26. She graduated from LSU in art with a major in photography and is currently back in school at Southeasten in Hammond working on credits so that she can begin teaching. Melissa is 22 and is going to school now to become a nurse. LPN. She has my only grandchild who is just over a year old and is named Sophia.
Hi, Chuck! Glad that you finally joined us on the web. How have you been? I enjoyed the pictures of your family. Hope to see you all at the reunion this weekend.
I was wondering when you were going to get on the site. Ronny said he had passed the message on to you. So glad you are now in country and will be at the reunion.
